Here’s how to utilize video filters and studio effects to further customize your video on Zoom before or during your meeting, as well as how to add a virtual background.
In this article, you will learn-
How to Change Your Background Before a Zoom Meeting
Open the desktop app and click your profile icon in the top-right corner of Zoom to change your background. After that, choose Background & Filters in the left sidebar. Finally, pick one of the default backgrounds or upload your own image by clicking the + sign and selecting Add Image.
Log in to the Zoom desktop application. If you don’t already have it, you can download the desktop application from Zoom here. The app will instantly begin downloading the installation file as soon as you click the link.
Then click the icon for your profile. This can be seen in the window’s upper right corner. A picture of you or your initials could be on it.
Select Settings next.
Click Background & Filters after that. This can be seen in the Settings window’s left sidebar after it appears.
If you don’t see this option, sign in to your account at zoom.us/profile/setting and visit that page. In Meeting (Advanced), scroll down to Virtual background, and then click the slider to the right to enable it. If you want to use a video background, you should also tick the option next to Virtual background.
Finally, click the plus sign to add your own image or video, or choose one of Zoom’s default backgrounds.
It should be noted that choosing blur will blur out any objects that are too near or far from your camera, including any that you are holding. Blur will also make your background opaque.
To use any image on your computer, select Add Image by clicking the plus sign to the right of the Zoom box. When you open the app again after adding further photos or videos, they will all be there.
A backdrop image with a minimum resolution of 1280720 is advised by Zoom. Additionally, only MP4 or MOV video files with a minimum resolution of 480360 and a maximum resolution of 10801920 should be used.
Try unchecking the box next to “I have a green screen” if your background is oozing over your clothing or the image has blank spots. Your outline might not be nearly as sharp in some instances, but you should still obtain the same green-screen effect. Additionally, unchecking this box will require more resources, which can slow down your computer.
Only if you are seated in front of a green screen or a wall that is one solid colour (green is preferable) should you check the “green screen” box. Click the colour square above Mirror my video and choose the colour you want to replace with your Zoom background to change your background
Note: clicking this box will lock your pointer inside the video window till you choose a color.
Every element in your video that matches the color of your chosen Zoom background will be replaced once you’ve picked it. Therefore, be careful not to wear any clothing that matches your background color. If not, they will lose their key and blend into the background.
